I have a customer with a 2005 Porsche and he has a Geico mechanical warranty. I just have to say that we have done two major claims with this car and Geico was great to work with.
On the first claim Geico came to inspect a rear main seal leaking. When the adjuster looked at the job he threw in a clutch set up that was needed too. This is unheard of.
On the second claim it came in for a tranmission problem. the car also had an o2 sensor code and needed a state inspection. I went ahead and did the o2 sensor and got the state inspection done and then I called the warranty company about the transmission. Geico looked at the bill and took care of the o2 sensor as well. I never really heard of an aftermarket warranty company paying for o2 sensors.
If you use Geico, give them a call and ask them about there mechanical warranty. It may be a good choice for a lot of guys.

It's only on new car purchases. No W211 will qualify. You might want to post it to the W212 guys. I use Geico for insurance and have the mechanical breakdown warranty for the wife's Altima which was bought new. When trying to get them to cover my Mercedes vehicles, they informed it's only for new cars.

According to their page, you have to buy it before you hit 15 months or 15,000 miles.
Too bad, I could use a warranty for my E55 and 996.
