Help! Identify the sound. Video

Going in for some warranty work next week. It expires next month. Car started making this noise about a week ago. Happens off and on, mostly right after a cold start. Any ideas? PS pump?

Thanks

Wow, that's a new sound for a car to make in my book. Can you tell where about its coming from? Dash, under hook, in the trunk etc?

Kinda reminds me of a toilet with a slight water leak that keeps refilling with water every now and then. lol

My best guess is the DVD or CD player. Try putting something in the single drive above the COMAND screen, or the multi CD (hidden) drive accessible by pressing the silver dash button near the Emergency flasher button... It's somewhere down there anyway.

Difficult to tell with all of other other racket going on in the video. Does the noise manifest itself if you just go straight, no stopping, no turning, no whatever that other noise is? Or when you turn as you did in the video?

Sounds like its coming from behind the Dash, perhaps engine bay?

I took all the discs out and turned off the comand, the noise was still present.

It's really random, mostly happens at lower speeds and it doesnt matter if I'm going straight or turning. It only happens after the first start of the day. After that it doesn't happen. Very odd.

Thanks for all the replies everyone

I'm sure you've tried this already, but does it make the noise if you don't start the engine? For instance, just turn the key on to the 2nd position and let all the pumps etc. start functioning?

I'll give that a try tomorrow morning. It only happens after a cold start. Very weird.

I think it may be something to do with the SBC pump. 3/5 times I cycle the pump (tapping the brake a few times) the noise comes.

Took a video of my COMAND unit coming alive - mic pointed into the disc slot above screen. Your vid was taken down, so not sure if this is the same noise...

Thanks for the clip but that is not the sound. Very weird, but for the last 2 days it hasn't come back. Guess it's gone
