Conti SportContact 2s. Only 1,000 miles so far and haven't pushed them, so can't really comment yet on performance on the E55, but I had them on my '02 Carrera for 2 years, and was very happy with them.

Porsche 997 Turbo
I'm pretty happy with my Continental SportContact 2 on the E55 but no wonder, the rear tire is a Mercedes specific M0 tire design which means that the compound mixture, flank structure, etc are different compared to the "original" SportContact 2 (same tire size).
I had the Continental SportContact on one of my former Porsche 996 and I hated it.
All E55 I saw til now had the Continental SportContact 2.
Good thing: this tire is approved for the 300 kph speed raise (where legally available).

The Mercedes specific Sport Contact 2 seems to "walk" on the sidewall and makes the rear end feel nervous when pushed through fast turns. I changed to the Pirelli's, which don't include this "feature".

Yes, P Zero Rosso. The S03 is stickier, but isn't available in Australia in 275/35X18. It is also a noisier/harsher tyre.
I "upsized" because the new E needs every mm of rear rubber it can get.
