Tested the best crank pulley and it has adjustable boost features!

Yes, this was the secret pulley that a few saw on my engine early on..

I was sent (to test them) a couple early production runs of this new adjustable boost crank pulley (last summer) by Redtooth products and was enthralled with the product! I have a few 195mm kits and my kit with extra boost rings. The fit and balance was better than the stock AMG ring and being all CNC machined VS cast iron like AMG, this pulley is better made. The balancing/harmonic absorbtion material is the same used by most all automotive MFG, so you get a better machined part that uses the best proven design of absorbing crank vibrations. Then with 6 hex head bols, you can change boost rings in a few easy minutes. No pulley hub removal at all, just change outer rings. Outer ring is aluminum and hard coated to help with wear , reduce belt slip and keeps weight low (more power)! The other favorite feature of mine, is that the balancing weight stays around the same 10.7 lbs as the stock set up, so balancing weight is not changed or increased.

The other pulleys were sent out to some of their aftermarket dealers but was happy to get some!!

Very nice, like the weight savings. Are 6 bolts enough to hold her together?

come on guys. he said he tested this pulley and found no issues. Exotic seems like a stand up guy on the parts he has made.

I like it, dose it have a concentric hub that centers on the HD?
Grade 8s would hold fine, then drill-em & wire.

6 bolts should be more than enough even without any thread locker.

I gotta admit, the design rocks imo.

You are right GT -ER!

Guys this pulley interlocks with the inner hub, so not much load on the bolts and those bolts will hold an easy 100 times the pulley load.. Instructions say use blue lock tight and torque to 25 ft lbs. It was easy to change the outer rings and this part works flawless! I have seen most all the pulley`s ever made for our cranks and nothing like this or that rocks like this.

I ran it hard for over 2000 miles and was perfect! I doubt I am the only person running one, but just may be the most vocal.

Sure makes swapping out pulleys simpler than torquing new bolts with a tree trunk each time.

Sounds like a great product.
Any chance you can post a picture showing how the ring interlocks with the hub?
Thanks for sharing this news.

Your R&D and support is invaluable to the community. This is great for constant tweakers or guys who want a "street" and "race" car. Coupled with the EC box and it's a helluva combination.

Maybe we should all just chip-in and buy Brooke or Shardul a vendor membership here so that they can actually speak freely about cool new products instead of talking in riddles (or asking us to go to some other message forum to get actual technical info)???

The vendor membership isn't THAT expensive is it? I'd be in for $20 to help....

I will throw in fo sho

To be a supporting vendor it is a monthly fee, and it is not cheap either, by the way.

It is not a one time fee.

I hear that! I know I have streched my arm a few times!

I made 3 pulley changes on my pulley to test it. I started 185mm, then went to a 190 and then had the custom 200mm battle shield made. I tested my bolt torque each change and every bolt was dead on my torque Ft lbs. Even the big 200mm ran so true that I could not even measure any run out at all. Used feeler gauges between the water pump pulley and 200mm ring to test it and it ran perfect.

I was thinking we will be trading rings like baseball cards pretty soon. For example, I have a 185 and you a 175, then I trade a dude for a 190 and then trade you a 185 for your 175. Something like that.

Thanks everyone, I will post pictures of the hub and ring. It is just a machined hub on the outer ring, that slides into the main steel hub. It is a CNC machined fit part. This project was over a year and half in the making. Special molds had to be made/designed to inject the bonding vibration durameter into the two part hub and all the other details that go with this.

Another cool feature, is that the hub surface that contacts the bearing seal is micro polished to prevent seal wear. If any of you are leaking oil around your seal, it may be that the other pulley`s dont have the right degree of polish or maybe not polished at all, to prevent seal wear.

I will be a sponsor or get on with a sponosr to be able to have FREEDOM OF SPEECH soon. Thanks again, it is a lot of fun knowing so many performance companies that want to make cool parts for the 55 format.
