Just gave GTHAUS a call to find out about a Meisterschaft exhasut
I just gave Jerry a call at GTHAUS to get some information on a Meisterschaft exhaust for my E55
and I was really impressed with their service.
Jerry stayed on the phone for around 25 min to give me advice on the best setup for the budget I was looking for and didn't try to sell me his products like a lot of other venders do.
I'm not too sure about what happened with them a few years ago but it seems like they revamped their whole team and are truly car enthusiasts now instead of just generic salesmen.
Their prices are still a little more than I was looking to spend at this time but I can tell they really care about their products and customers .![drive](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/driving.gif)
I've dealt with several other venders recently who just get straight up arrogant when I ask for their prices and stuff.

Agh I'm still deciding. One day I'm happy with my stock exhaust because its not too obnoxious, but the next day I'll hear a C63 and want a more aggressive exhaust.![smash](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smashfreak.gif)
I was just thinking of removing the resonators and putting in an X pipe but heard its not even worth the trouble for a minimal sound difference.

What about LT headers? Those give a definite change in the sound, not to mention the added power. Just saw you're in CA, so there might be emissions issues.

Emissions is also a hassle out here and I really just want the exhaust sound to match the performance of the car.
And from what I've seen, LT Headers are kinda pricey as well.

Go with a resonator+ secondary cat delete, with an x pipe in place of the secondary cats.. Wont be too loud, yet sounds good at WOT. Not to mention it wont bust your budget either.

I was advised to do long tubes, xpipe, no resonators, stock mufflers.

I don't know who advised to do the long tubes, xpipe, resonator deleat but I second it.
The motor will breath easier, better heat disapation and that equals HP gains, with a nice sound.

Sorry I accidentally said long tubes, I meant just xpipe and resonator delete for now. I've been quoted $800 for this.

Depending on your budget, leave all else in place and do a muffler delete. Any good exhaust shop will make or be able to get their hands on quad tips. Just ask them to weld the amg tips on the end.
The sound will be muscular with no rasp at all. You will also save 45lbs in weight off the back which in itself will add performance.
Anything else you do to the exhaust system on the e55 is going to be a waste in terms of increase sound volume. The e55 mufflers are very very quiet and they are the ones that need to go.

So one shop is offering to do a custom X-pipe and resonator delete. They said their x-pipe setup with be bolt on and not welded so I can remove it and sell it later.
I also ordered an x-pipe online (3") that I can have installed and resonator delete at another shop. Is there a big difference between both ways? The custom setup is $800 vs the premade x-pipe install which will probably only be $300 or so.
