TCU Tune
I have being trying to get my TCU to Jerry for the longest time and finally today with it winding down for the holidays, I got the chance to stop by and have the meistro do his thing.
I have to say that the tune is so worth it. Smooth shifts are the order of the day and those shifts happen quicker than before.
I finally have true M mode so I have to learn the shift points all over again. Even in M mode before my nanny TCU would shift for me. Now the cluster glows a bright RED telling me to shift LOL.
Driveability at lower RPM's seems improved for me too.
Thanks to Jerry and the Eurocharged team for getting this done for me. If you were on the fense on this mode all I can say the smile alone is worth it!

I am so torn on whether to do this or not. I have a modified valve body in my car that improves the quickness/firmness of shifts but I am wondering how the TCU tune may work with the modified valve body. It looks like the videos of peoples tach with TCU tune jump faster between shifts than mine does, but I suppose the tcu could be holding me back some even though I have a modded valve body to increase line pressure and quicken shifts.

This is a video of my gauges with the modded valve body, the shifts are firmer and quicker but I am just wondering if they could be even quicker than this with the TCU tune. Then I am curious about how some mention the car feels stronger like it gained power after the tcu tune.

I received my tcu back from Jerry and I must say that I expected a little more from the 1-2 shift. I have done some spirited driving but haven't had a chance to try a WOT 1-2 shift. If the float between the 1-2 shift has been fixed, I'll consider the tcu tune a success.

Saw on another thread about this, where someone asked if the TCU tune could eliminate the granny-shifting transmission adaptions that inevitably seem to occur - IIRC, Jake replied that unfortunately that couldn't be done.
It got me thinking... once when I had my TCU adaptions reset by the dealership, getting the car back felt like the tranny had a new lease on life - quick, responsive shifts in C or S. It practically felt like the programming had been tuned, it was so different.
So, my question is, has anyone had the TCU tune long enough and done some easy driving in traffic for those softer-shifting adaptions to come back? Does the TCU tune at least help mitigate how sluggish it gets in C or S, i.e. does it narrow the range of adaption?

Well I did all my Trans stuff years ago before any Mercedes tuner offered anything. I believe eurocharged now offers a torque converter. In the E55 the valve body and torque converter was done by IPT. On my Clk55 I have IPT torque converter and fully built Trans by southern hot rod. Stall is around 2800ish but can't use it in the clk because it snaps axles like twigs. Let me know how you like your tcu tune
