Hi, I would like to know where is a good reliable source to purchase a Star Diagnosis Tool at a reasonable price. I see a lot being sold at EBAY but I am not too sure of the reliability. I need the tool in order to reprogram my E55 2005. Thank you in advance

We have ordered some from a few different suppliers that are selling them at a cheap price. We are going to see how well they work and, if they work well, we will soon be offering them for sale. Our price point on the system will be around $600 with all the connectors but without a laptop.

PM Shardul he can help you out either with the whole kit if you need a laptop or just the multiplexer and and external HDD with Star loaded on it that runs using a virtual machine with VMWare.

Is this something that you can load/operate on any laptop with included cables or does it require something specific??

You just need a laptop that has a DB9 port and a USB port for the external HDD to plug into or enough disk space on your laptop to copy the VMware files to.

If your laptop doesn't have a DB9 port you can buy a USB to DB9 converter.
