V8 Kompressor engine - Thinking of adding NOS???

Iv been toying lately with the ideas of re-mapping, de-cating, resonator deleting, throttle body enlarging, supercharger pulley upgrading etc etc to get a little bit more oomph out of the old girl.

The old girl being a 2004 S55 AMG Kompressor.

Not saying she's not fast enough in standard form, but just on the odd occasion you just need that little bit more.

Anyways, it occured to me that without having to go through all of the above, what if i was to add a NOS system to the equation instead. Instant power when i need it and normal driving when i dont.
Only looking at adding a 100bhp kit.

Anyone else tried it and think it wasnt all that?
Anyone got any opinions about how well this engine would take to it?

Many thanks.

As my buddy Dom always says:

"You'll be lucky if that hundred shot of NOS doesn't blow the welds on the intake!"

He lives his life a 1/4 mile at a time, so I would listen seriously to what he has to say.

This will occur, then the floor pan will come unbolted, and fall off your car.

Whatever you do, don't short shift, and make sure to double clutch, or Dom will get PISSED!

Go to CKS Peformance somewhere in the UK, speak to Chet or Kiran Sharma.

Don't destroy an S55K with nos, you might think its the cheaper way out, but it's not.

If you want to add the bottle to your car, don't post it up here. People on this forum really know nothing about it and assume immediately it is going to blow your motor, lmao.

Do your homework, don't get greedy, set it up correctly, add in the safety features and you will be golden. A 100 shot on a bonestock S55AMG would rape just about any stage 55AMG up and down the highway and on the track. Go for it homey and when done right, you will be very happy with the end result. Don't listen to folks who have no experience running it on their own car but claim to know all the facts

This. Also remember typically on boosted applications you see about double what you normally would from a shot due to cooling effects. So a 50 shot could be similar to 100 shot. As stated, don't get greedy and start slow. A wideband O2 sensor is your friend. Make sure you can support the fuel needs as well.

P.S. You'll need the big bottle, and you should probably make that two!

Meth is actually way more dangerous than nitrous. The logic behind that is when you tune for Meth, you actually advance timing as you are increasing the octane of the gas by adding Meth. Now if the system does not trigger off like it should, well your Ecu is still going to have the timing advanced and your are going to be subjected to major detonation and a hurt motor.

On nitrous, it is the total opposite, when the system sprays you tune the ecu to pull timing. If you don't get greedy with the shot size, the sauce will also have a major cooling effect while making big HP/TQ. Again, if the system does not trigger like it should, you will not be subjected to the advanced timing issue and you should be relatively safe.

most meth kits have a flow-based failsafe or the newer Injection Monitors that will dump boost and/or pull timing just as fast as a knock sensor will so if it sees meth/water injection flow rate drop below what its supposed to see it immediately pulls timing or reverts to a stock ECU map instantly before it tries to advance timing, so meth kits are uber safe these days

my meth kit on the audi uses both meth injection flow rate failsafe and boost controller failsafe so it would also dump boost and obviously not being trying to advance timing at that point.... i know that part works because when i first installed meth on my s4 i didnt get a good tap on the map sensor with the crappy quicktaps it came with and so when i first took it out for test drive i would see the progressive controller go up a few LED's and drop off and car would fall flat on its face...

finally i realized it was dumping boost like it was supposed to do because it wasnt seeing correct flow since the map signal sucked and it was getting intermitant signals lol... i soldered it and no problems after that...

that being said... both nitrous and meth can be equally dangerous if failsafes arent installed.... but i def want to explore running both on my car.... meth for full time cooling/ timing advance and nitrous for whenever i needed a little edge on the highway (prob a 25 shot since in s/c app would equate to a bit more)

Honestly, there is nothing left to say in this topic. A+ Chawkins.
