Pulley and tune choices

Pulley and tune choices
Stock 2005 e55. Looking to upgrade now that warranty is done.
Looking into 180mm pulley with tune and cm30 pump and HE upgrade.
Best choices? Eurocharged seems to be a common well liked choice.
Anyone had any issues with CEL or anything else. Looks very straightforward.
Pro and cons?

Send a PM to Denroll.
He's in San Diego and just worked through some upgrades with a tuner in your area.
Personally, I'd go with a well-respected tuner who is actually in your geographic area. That way you can get an actual dyno tune instead of a generic "box tune".
Beyond that asking who the best tuner is, is kind of like asking what a pretty girl looks like. You'll never get a consistent answer.

Ok I'll rephrase my question, who has had CEL or other problems because of mods from a pulley and a tune? Seems that additional cooling is a no brainer, might even be worth doing on a stock car just because it makes sense. The water pump overspeed seems to be handled with a different pulley.
I used to have a 430 with a aftermarket s/c kit and the problems all got resolved in time but I'm not interested in going that route again.

My point exactly.

-Upgrade your pump and H/E
-Make sure you give your pulley installer torque specs so the pulley stays on
-Get the car tuned by a reputable tuner immediately
-If you're going with a 180, get a fuel rail and injectors too or you will be making threads like "busted ring land on cylinder 8 because I went with a big pulley but no fueling"
You won't get a CEL unless you failed at one of the above steps.
Tuner is a personal preference and discussing them will only cause pissing matches here. I prefer the company I went with for my tunes because of their character, accountability (they are local to me), and because I got unsolicited PMs from a different company badmouthing my tuner after I had decided to go local, which to me evidences poor business ethics, at least in my eyes.
Do your research and good luck.

Let me know how I can help
I'd do either a 168mm pulley and a tune if you don't want to do cooling..
but looks like doing cooling is a no brainer so here is my suggestions:
Phase 1:
Automotive Connoisseur Group Mutt Package 1+ for 113 55K Motors
Package Includes:
-ECU Tune for Stage 1 Package 1
-ASP180mm Oversized Crank Pulley
-Black Anodized Billet Aluminum Water Pump Pulley
-New Belt
-New Factory Crank Stretch Bolt
-K&N Drop In Filter
-Upgraded Larger Front Mounted Heat Exchanger
&/or -Upgraded Intercooler Pump
Phase 2:
-TT Fuel Rail and Injectors
-Headers
&/or throttle body

There have been blown up engines with the new fuel rail.
If you want safe power stay 168mm and under 20d advanced timing after 5k
Go 168 and kleemann or renntech if you dont want the risk of blowing up.im back on stock boost.too many cars blowing up on the verge of finding more power

OK, I think I found it in the last page of the Johncy "Blown Motor" thread:
keksigma (Kevin?)
I don't think he ever came back with information about the ignition timing (advance)....and I know that you are always preaching about not getting greedy with too much timing. (see? I'm listening!) I don't think ANY amount of fuel will save a motor with excessive top-end timing.
Here's another question. This is the dyno that Kevin posted for his motor with a 190mm pulley.
Are those crazy spikes / dips in the torque curve the result of S/C belt slippage?
Somewhat relevant to this thread, since at some point when you start going more massive pulleys you'd better be thinking about a wrap kit too.

I though sigma was due to the bad pulley install???? I'm glad i'm only going with a 168mm renntech and headers for now. Always going to be someone else w/more hp or faster out there. Can't win them all.

some people are saying 30whp gain from the kit so how is the power going up with just adding fuel?
That dyno could be a few things going on,it could be knocking, boost bleeding and belt slip or all of the above.
our cars dont really like higher than 185 pullies and get harder to tune from the 190-200mm club

That's kind of what I read into it as well.....though it was also clear that he was pretty ticked-off about the whole experience and didn't seem very interested in talking about it. Can't say I blame him for that.
