Mine is the biggest pain in the ****. I had a train horn pushing it down so had a part missing. That part turned into half of it missing. Just siliconed/screwed plexiglass in there last week and it flew right off as soon as triple digits were hit. I dont know what to do as this part is too short for oem e63 bumper as well.

This ones $85 shipped from parts.com

**edit this one is for the face lift, may work better for ppl with e63 front bumpers?**

i have the front two encapsilators on mine. I took the one that covers the tranny pan off. It kept on making vibrations/noises after i installed my long tubes where the two brackets are farthest from the front.

I bought one for my W124 from the dealer. Saved my oil pan on more than one occasion!

Alextaylor29, your pretty lucky. I heard of guys hitting tire carcasses end tearing up their car's oil cooler.
And their not a cheap fix either, as your car need to be flat bedded to a repair shop.

I just checked epc and there are 3 versions of the "protective plate" vs just "covering" which is for us cars. I'm not sure which would be the correct one, but they do look to be available.

Here is what I found out, and this is for an E55 (mine is a 2006).
# 10 = 211 520 15 22 (this is the new number)
# 60 = 211 524 26 30
# 200 = 211 524 28 30
According to my source, there is no "metal" piece for the E55

Diagram of pieces:

Hope this helps you guys! Under Engine Plastic Thingie/Cover - Necessary?-encapsulationpanels-1.jpg

This is great I need all three pans!

Anyone who might be doing a E63 conversion and want to sell their good (slightly) scratched front belly pan? send me a PM...with cost etc.

Thanks in advance!

I wish these covered the pipes right after the cats... caught a plastic bag right behind the cat on the drivers side last night. Gotta love the smell of burning plastic.

Removed all three pans and hardware from my car and won't put them back on as long as I own it. Don't want them trapping heat and they are a pain to R&R every time working under the car. You get a little more engine noise with them off, but that's OK with me.

Gotta have some protection at least.
Mine was in pretty poor shape too. If you have a fair majority of it left, just get some fiberglass and resin and it's an easy repair...
