Anyone know a good tuner shop in the Portland area?
I'm really in the dark when it comes to finding a shop that knows how to perform some of the mods discussed on this forum. Heck, I could sure use a good independant mechanic for that matter. I feel like I'm stuck with the dealership here and they don't have a good history of taking care of me. I live in the Portland Oregon area but wouldn't mind going a little ways to get work done. I did a search but didn't see any mentions. Any help or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers, Jon

I'm a fellow PDX'er too. I've been taking mine to Mercedes Benz of Wilsonville since I got it. I was going to use Matrix Integrated for routine maintenance, but their prices were higher than the dealer! (over $300 to change the oil and replace the three cabin filters)
I'd also like to hear some first-hand recommendations for the area.
On an aside... Do any of you go to the Tigard Cars & Coffee? I should be there this Saturday...

Hey Joe,
I have had a lot of luck with Casey Botta of Botta Motorworks. They are located downtown across the street from Chown Hardware at 407 NW 16th Ave.
Casey has always taken really good care of me and actually saved me from repairing several things that the dealer said were necessary (Casey had my car up on the rack and pointed out that the recommends had been "overly enthusiastic" and unnecessary). The things that were in line with what the dealer suggested, he came in at an appreciable savings.
I'd say knowing and utilizing a reputable and competent independent mechanic is wise investment.

I've been taking my C43 to LakeSide Mercedes Repair in Tigard.

They're professional, honest and are a good dealer alternative.
