Who's trying to break records this year?

Just trying to see who is out to break some records this year? I know there's got to be 4-5 of us going for the E55 record (10.59) and the first to the 9's for the E55's. Hopefully Jody gets to the track before all of us so we know what the EV12 can do.

I would like to run 10s, but I'm not finished with the car yet. Plus South Florida heat and humidity sucks! Would be nice though. Working on cooling now.

e55amgrocket Jan 22, 2012 04:02 PM

I'm going for 10's at full weight then after the 10.59 record but i have a feeling thats not going to be a record for too much longer.

BRABUS786 Jan 22, 2012 04:06 PM

yeah i agree it wont be a record for long : )

Hammer Down Jan 22, 2012 06:02 PM

Good luck to all of you. 10's are not easy (ask Craig 11.0) Alan's 10.7 stood for almost 2yrs and now Brendan's car holds the record with a 10.59. If your going for 10.59 you better bring your lunch!

Talk is cheap. Your making it sound like 10s are easy.

It's not. Everything has to be just right. :y

e55amgrocket Jan 22, 2012 07:23 PM

There will be at least 4 new E55's in the 10's this year.

BRABUS786 Jan 22, 2012 07:27 PM

And a wagon

Acid

blackbenzz Jan 22, 2012 07:49 PM

I'm guessing 5+ benzes in the 9s this year

chawkins2001 Jan 22, 2012 08:17 PM

Yes, talk is cheap homeys. 10s is a hell of an order for these cars.

Weather and track prep have to he perfect to hit that number. Case and point, I had my car gutted, removed catback, on c16 and clicked 523rwhp/635rwtq on the heart breaker.

With that setup I headed down to Silver Dollar that had sick prep that day. I cut a 1.56 60 ft and could only muster a 11.0...... I was convinced that day I was going to knock on bk's 10.79 run but did not even come close. The missing factor was weather, the stars have to really align to get these cars in the 10's.

A completely full weight car on pump gas will never ever touch the record that low pro set, never.

I have mad respect for low pro and what he did, he is king right now, and although there are lots of guys chasing it, something extra Will have to be added to your arsenal if You plan to touch it full weight.

Off course I am hoping to dip into the 10's this year, but my goal is to change nothing at all between my track setup and street setup. I will have a little weight reduction, but it will not change on the street and will still be able carry 4 passengers.

Let the games begin brothas.

lars sedell (guran is his screename i think) he holds the slk32 record but theres no limit to his mods. he cut the hood open for a filter to stick thru, shrick cams, headers, headwork n/w everything and more

I don't think so, I think it will have major traction problems and will take a damn experienced dragger to get the full potential out of the car.

If you make the jump from a low 500rwhp car to a low 600rwhp car, let me tell you, it is major. You encounter big issues you never saw with 100rwhp less.

I think with one of the Wiestec blowers a full weight E55 will fairly easily run in the 10s with some good drag radials no matter if it is 40 degrees out or 80. We don't have any information yet but I would assume that Weistec isn't going to offer something under ~580whp on an otherwise stock car and with cars with huge pullies and the other mods putting out mid 500s I would think they are gonna drop mid 600s on us with a header, big throttle body equipped E55. That massive increase in power will make things much easier for the people who open their wallet, throw down the plastic and then start to :mercy:

But when all said and done at the end of the track they will be all :D:splooge: Weistec :urock: :wootrock:

Now if we could just get those guys to show us a little something finally. For now it is just hopes and dreams

U wanna run 10's and deeper in these heavy sleds you need a crapload of HP and or a crap load of tq, and you better hook it up and run a sub 1.65

+1, my car might be slower in ET but trap might say otherwise. This V12 is heavy, if I runs mid 10s I'll be happy. :D

Experience is key when it comes to drag racing I agree but these cars are super easy to drag with sticky tires and good track prep. I've gone from 500rwhp to over 700rwhp and with a stick car it was all about the launch. Now we're building a SN-95 with a twin 76mm turbo LSX so I've got a lot of goals this year lol. Mid 10's in the 55 and 8's with a street legal car just for fun. It's going to be a good year. Anyone want to buy some dirt bikes? I need some play money ;)
