My E55 Mod Thread
Well, I cannot really make a build thread, as I didn't really take pictures of everything as I was doing it... But I want to share/show some pictures of the different things that been done. Plus, make a list the mods that are done (I get a few PMs daily asking about my mods).
Anyway - The Car... Its an 03 E55 - Tektite over black/antharcite...
Factory options - keyless go, pano, trunk assisted closer, active ventilated seats, rear sunshade.
Retrofitted OEM options - Comand w/ Nav, iPod, Sat Radio, LSD, 05+ Center console with rolltop, CLS keyless go knob, S550 antenna, 07+ trunk panel, 07+ tail lights, R170 sport pedals. Plus many of version coding changes.
Aftermarket Mods - Suvneer CF lip, CF trunk lip spoiler, C63 touring diffuser, CF inserts in the headlights, alcantara steering wheel, custom OEM grille, lowered on links/SDS, suede dash, suede door card tops, center console box sides wrapped in suede, Brabus door pins, all wood painted Tektite (body color), resonator replaced with X-Pipe, aznoptics city lights, lime green fog-lights that match my brakes, OEM wheels repainted with silver containing metallic flake, MB arts rear toe links, MB arts rear camber adjustment, MB arts front *top secret parts*, and some other junk im forgetting.
Planned future mods - Wheels (arriving this week!), CLS 2 place rear seats, alcantara/suede front seat inserts, coilovers, and some power mods.
Anyways - pics:

Thanks!
Thanks!
Definitely love.
Hehehe, I wish I had the time to go to South Africa! What do you want done?
80-85% of the stuff on my car was DIY. None of it was terribly difficult, mostly just time consuming.
Thanks, and AGREED!
Thanks!
Painted body color? Its a subtle change to the interior, but gives it a different feel.
Motorkas, I want to swap those 2 place CLS rear seats into my E55. I like the rear center console box, and those rear seats are more comfortable than the rear bench seats. Not to mention, it will dress up the interior quite a bit!
I will make the DIY on the dash wrap, just need more free time! (Seems really rare...)
Thanks!

Thanks! Having the dash wrapped the wheel done makes the interior flow much nicer.
Thanks!
Thanks! I feel the green fogs give the car more personality.
They were custom ordered online. Dont have the website at work, but they are 36000k HIDs!
Thanks!
Thanks! Its definitely a change from the old school, brown wood.

Out Of Control!!
Did you do the steering wheel too or did you have someone do that? I've always wanted to try rewrapping a steering wheel, have an old E30(that I can f up) one and have plenty of alcantara I bought for another project

If it wasn't for the dog, I'd be looking into the back seat conversion as well - luxo limo seating, more head room than the CLS
You also got me to do an instant search for the upholstery shops in the area (I would try to tackle the DIY but if I do it I'm going to figure out a way to throw stitching in there and sewing isn't on the DIY list

Time, always too little, I plan on doing the entire roof, dash and upper door panels in antracite alcantara, and just drooling @ your baby, makes me want to do it sooner. I will have to dream for now.
The Rear seat CLS configuration is going to be sublime.

2005 E55 AMG
I definitely want my interior like that...just looks nasty. I wonder how much it would cost...detailing it would get expensive too on alcantara/suede cleaner...
