Modded GTO vs. e63
i know you e55 guys have ran into quite a few GTOs.. earlier last week, a buddy of mine wanted to see how my e63 "keeps up" with his acclaimed 520hp GTO..
he isnt telling me any of his mods
and all i have are the TTM modified air boxes as far as performance mods will go.
should i go for it? raise the stakes? or sit this one out?

I am betting E63 with the win. The traction problem with GTOs and the Benz having amazing traction control and shift points.
I am going E63 FTW......(VIDEO). Also I did race a 6.0 GTO with at least an exhaust and my E63 was stock at the time and I won by 1 1/4 cars in Mexico.

There used to be a Holden GTO, is that the one you mean?

If he is making 520rwhp, that is good for mid 11's in that car, and it will rape you from a roll. Your best bet would be from a dig, as he will probably be spinning, whilst you will squat and go

+1. My brother in law had a 6.0 GTO with full exhaust, cam, intake. He was putting down around 390-400 to the wheels. Best run was 12.8. But 520 is a different animal.

He more likely means 520 crank HP unless it's a built larger displacement engine or has forced induction. The 04s have the smaller 5.7 engine and the 05-06 have the better 6.0. The 04s have a flat hood and single exit exhaust making them easy to identify, although either is easy to modify into the 350-390 RWHP range without cracking into the engine. 440-480 RWHP is common with modified heads and valve train upgrades.
They also have tiny rear wheel wells severely limiting tire size and traction for a 3800-3900 lb car.
Go for it.

If he's quoting crank hp, he's probably just adding up "HP" numbers for each of his mods. K&N- 15hp. Exhaust- 25 HP, etc.
When I had my CTS-V with an LS6, I only made 380 rwhp (on a heartbreaker dyno dynamics) with an aggressive cam, longtubes, intake, exhaust and custom tune. For him to make a true 520 crank, he should have a lot more work done, which would make his car quite deadly.

E55 w/ goods, Z32 Project underway
No disrespect to the OP as this is not the first nor will be the last, but I wish folks would stop posting this type of stuff, just go out and get it done, then put up results, because over half of the time, no meet ever occurs anyhow and it just waste everyone's time. Nostradamus racing does not accomplish much.
