Tyres for E55?

I am getting a set of 19" Brabus Monoblock VI's. The hassle is finding tyres to suit. I am looking for 255 front and 285 rears.
S03's and PZero's are not available in these sizes, so it is down to Michelin Pilot Sports or the Bridgstone RE050, which is also recommended by AMG, but I have no experience with them.

I would go with the Bridgestones. The S 03's on my S class are super, if that means anything brandwise. What does Tirerack think of the tires you're considering? I relied upon their rankings and was not disappointed.

Unfortunately our friend is in Australia and the S03's are not available in the sizes he's looking for... also, getting Tire Rack to ship that far would be cost prohibitive if they'd even consider it. As for the RE050s, no personal experience but reading reviews on the 'net they at least look comparable to the Pilot Sports. If it were me I'd choose the less expensive option.

I was just using the S 03's as a brand example. Even if you can't get Tirerack to ship to Australia, you can still use their website with extensive tire reviews and comparisons to assist in making the decision.

Nice choice of rims mate...damn nice they are.

I'm quite surprised the S-03's don't come in the sizes you're looking for. In that case, you shouldn't even bother checking out the GIII's. The RE050 are fitted on the Ferrari Enzo?

Have you looked into Pirelli's? I've currently got the P Zero Neros and they're much better than the Dunlop SP9000 imo. However, for your E55, I'd recommend something more grippy, like some P Zero Rosso's.

Cheers.

Thumbs up Michelin Pilot Sports!!!

Get the Michelin Pilot Sports! The old W210 uses them for OEM. I have mine on my 18"s and they're great!

I ended up with the Michelins as these are the tyres recommended by Brabus for the car. They are a lot noisier than the Pirelli P Zero's though, but seem to have better grip.
