WHEELS
Gents: I am podering lowering my car and then doing something with the stock wheels or buying new ones. Any suggestions to my pondering?
I really want to have the original AMG wheels painted matte black or something like it. If you have done this please share a photo or two here or email me at: dgsu4ea70@socal.rr.com

Try searching.
This post really sucks, btw. You're asking for opinions and give no other details. It will help if you give some background on the look you're going for, your budget, the size you want, etc.

Really not sure what I am going for, thats the reason for the pondering. I was hoping that some would chime in and explain what they have done, and what they spent. Bottom line is: I want black wheels, but I would rather paint my stock wheels. I want to lower front end, but not that much maybe a couple inches at most. My mercedes mechanic tells me thaty he can plug something in and lower my front end 1/16th every time he presses a button. If that doesn't work then I guess lowering springs would be the next obvious choice. I would like to do ALL this under $1k if I can. So BLKE55K, does that help you anymore? CHEERS!

Skip the electronic lowering and just replace the springy things in the suspension aka lowering springs.
As far as painting the wheels go, you can pick up paint at Lowes for 4 bucks a can. You just need to decide if you want flat, satin or gloss.
Seriously,
Good Luck

Find a couple of cars you like and go from there. The reason for the above comments is because a silver car with black wheels, a black car with black wheels, and a white car with black wheels all look different and give different looks - we don't even know what color your 55 is.
As far as your budget of under 1k for lowering and wheels, you're pretty much confined to STAR lowering and painting the stockers - just by going up from the 18 - 19's you'll go through that on tires alone. . .
Good luck and post pics when you're done

Don't listen to these guys, they're pulling your leg... You want to get the lowering bolts(call modbargains, since they don't list Benz parts in there online store)
then you'll want a 1" spacer to bring the wheels flush, and pick up some matte/satin/gloss Vinyl from your local sign shop to wrap your wheels... You'll be good to go in no time

I didn't buy this car at Costco, but not every E55 owner dumps 10-15k into moding there cars. I bought this car stock from a high end dealer here in the OC! It only had 35k miles and I got it for 30k straight up. Avatar = Wife!

Motorkas: Thanks for understanding what I posted. My car is desert silver metallic and I am new to this site (hence the newbie designation). I also don't have tons of money to burn so I need to do these things to my car as cheap as I can but with quality. I will research this site a bit more and decide from there. I found a guy that would powder coat stock wheels for $150 a piece, think I will go with that. Not sure about getting the front end down. Thanks again brotha!

Front lip, black grill, and HID fogs and low beams. Wheels are 18" Forgestar F14s in gunmetal.. Almost match the color of the car perfectly.
