I had a full PPI done including a full paint inspection. The SA at Lynnwood and I talked for about an hour on the car. His guys went over the whole thing and he said it's really clean. The owner hasn't driven the car more than 5k miles in the past two years and just wants to invest funds elsewhere...
He knew it was an out of state purchase so they went over it with a fine tooth comb and was very professional. So i've opted to have them redo the valve cover gaskets while I'm up there and the warranty will have full coverage with no question marks moving forward
he's the 2nd owner, the first owner had it for about 10k miles (one of those buy it, get the next year model guys with 15 cars) - full service, and VMI is up to date - even did the brakes in October so that's a big expense already taken care of.

So there letting you purchase the warranty and the same day covering the valve covers!!
Dont they have a waiting period or want a pre inspection? sounds like a warranty
from heven if they do.. even the GE warr. has a waiting period and there the best ive used

note: i'm paying for the work to be done, not from the warranty company
this was part of how I negotiated a lower price for the sale of the car

Good luck, Toadster. There shall be some crow eating on the site when you own your 55... At least if they are men enough. I'll be seeing in an S65 in a few years when your tastes mature!

Its no pewter. lol J/K have a safe trip and don't crash trying to figure out what all the crazy new buttons and features do. It will seem like flying a jet with all the buttons after a mazda. Lol

although, lately there have been some DAMN HOT pewter rides on here!
regarding buttons - I'm surprised Steve Jobs liked Mercedes to be honest - he was always about simplicity and Zen - and he drove Mercs for years...

+1 to not speeding in Oregon, they're pretty sneaky here. The speed limit on I-5 is 65 in most places outside the cities and everybody adds about 10 to that. Enjoy your new purchase. Good luck with the drive.

101 would be fun for some twisty action
are you recommending because of the fun of 101? or should we worry past Grants Pass for snow?

Seriously I hope this is it and we're done with the silly 16 year old questions.
Your nuts will become mansize when you finally take the right of passage and turn ESP off in that E55!

I'm a fan of tuning - especially on an ATX to shore up the shift points, and overall ECU tuning... and open the exhaust a bit, not going to do headers - gotta keep it CA legal because I just don't want to deal with SMOG crap... these cars burn clean with a lot of power - so no sense getting in the mix.
I just don't get why tuning costs so much for the Merc... maybe because the Mercs cost more
the Diesel guys can get a $250 tune and generate 130+ more HP - and we get 40HP for $1300 LOL
oh well, I vent...
but yes, once I get 'used' to 469HP, I will most likely mod...

The tuning I can understand as they have to crack the Mercedes coding and figure things out and they will sell less tunes.
Where I think the RAPPPEEE!!! is is in some of the exhaust components. $2500-6500 for headers? Couple grand for an X pipe setup. Couple grand for a catback?
