E55 left at the night drop!!
Well I filled up tonight on the way home from work and put her away in the garage as I always do. Came out it the garage to find gas all over the garage floor at the drivers side rear wheel. YAY!! Literally stopped what I was doing to get the car out of the garage and the car continued to leak as I moved it.
Never-the-less, decided it best to take her down the road to get looked at in the morning. Anyone experience this issue lately? I've read all sorts about this issue and just trying to get a gauge on how much this is going to cost me... Hopefully with the amount of things I've read about it MB will pick up the tab. Paying for a wedding right now and it couldnt have come at a worse - more stressful - time.

Under warranty or recall notice? Mine is WAY out of warranty.. I test drove a 2012 Jag XFR Saturday.. this is how the car is repaying me..

The first time it was under the recall (1 sending/pump). The second time the dealer put it under warranty (both sending unit/ pump and tank). The last time they refused recall and warranty claim, so I paid out of pocket for the 1 sending unit/pump).

I would pop the back seat off and get at the tank cover where the pump is and check if a hose is just leaking or maybe one of the rubber seals. Could be a pretty easy fix and nothing to stress over. I think in the past I have seen a thread where someone even took pics of a hose that was leaking and how to fix it (might be in DIY section). Saying you just filled up and it is leaking sounds more like a seal though.

i dont think you can just buy the rubber grommet. You will need to buy the whole fuel sending unit, costing $550 +/-. Ususally its the DS that is leaking bad!

Not arguing it. Just got Slapped with an $800.00 repair bill. They have to get into the tank and replace a filter and gasket seal?? Either way, I am not fortunate enough to have the time to do it myself right now. Whatever.
XFR is looking awful enticing right now.. E55 has a tight grip on my heart. Hard to make the decision to let it go. even 8 years old with 96k on the clock.

sounds like the beast has stayed pretty much together for the time you have owned her. things will always happen to machines with tons of moving parts.
Hard to let go of a E55 I am sure. But if you are going to switch over to British, oh I mean Indian, try test driving the XKR-S. I think you will find that car more in line with what you are use to with the E55.
Congrats on the wedding !!

I had to replace my fuel sending unit after 4 months owning it along w valve cover gaskets. $950 out of pocket for the fuel awning , but warranty covered valve covers
