Help diagnosing problem

I am going to take it into the shop as soon as i can but I guess I'm wondering A) how serious the problem is and B) know what the problem is with out mechanics bull****ing me around. Anyway, very simple, when i am in manuel and in 1st gear or even regular D position and i start out from a stop, about 1-2 seconds after starting out there is a slight slip, no thump or anything violent just revving, little slip, then continue through the gear. Only when starting out, no slip in any other gears.

Took it in with the CEL light on last week, they found a leaky trans seal and fixed it and added trans fluid. I can still feel the slip and the CEL came back on today. This is why I want to know the problem so i can go in there and tell them my opinion. Like when the IC pump went bad, went in told them the issue and that it was the IC pump but these damn mechanics have to act like like you don't know anything about the car, told me i was wrong, went and drove it, wasted some time, hooked it up to the STAR and sure enough IC Pump code.... anyway if anything comes to mind about this new problem lmk. thanks

i don't have it handy. i wish i would have asked and i know that would help i just figured they fixed it so i didn't ask. i guess my question is, how often do SC clutches go bad (if that is even it) and vs how often do transmissions go bad in these cars (if that is the problem)

If you can, get an obd II code reader / scanner and pull the code yourself. You can get it from pep boys or any auto parts store. This way you are not guessing and we can better help you. The reader/ scanner is less than a $100, but so valuable in diagnosing the possible problem.

Got Autozone or advance auto parts and they can pull the CEL code for you. From there let us know what it is.
