I cant even change a light bulb?
I'm replacing my left front xenon headlight that burned out. Put in the same model sylvania bulb. Snapped in the clips. Now I cant the little black box to snap back in. I've literally done this for hours and just quit. Whats wrong with me? Mercedes will snap it on for $200...

I made a post about this a couple of years ago on here, but I can't remember how to find it. From what I remember, the ignitor on one side snaps on with the connector up and the other with the connector down, OR......... one turns CW and the other CCW. Either way, they do not both go on the same way.Look at the back of the ignitor, there may be an arrow or something to help you. Once I figured it out it after half an hour it took about 5 seconds to snap on.
Edit: I just found my old post.......soooo, make sure the writing is right side up on the ignitor if it's on the driver side, and make sure the bulb is properly seated.
"If the bulb is seated correctly, the ballast/ignitors easily slide right on. However, the passenger side ignitor goes on UPSIDE DOWN!!!! If you look at the writing on it, it'll be right side up on the driver side and upside down on the passenger side when correctly installed."

I got that ignitor cap to click in finally. Snapped in that green power wire and then headlight never turned on. I also tried the light in the ignitor with it not fully installed just to see if the light would come on. It didn't.
Brought it to the local shop for foreign cars and they said the the balist is bad. Does that make sense? Hopefully because they are working on it now. Said they would have to remove the whole bumper to get in there.
Also my headlight slowly dimmed over the courses of months before going out. He said that sounds like the balist rather than xenon because xenon would flicker and go out. Is that true?
Thanks
