Here comes the 2013 GT500 (Pricing inside)
http://blog.caranddriver.com/2013-fo...ible-at-59995/
The pricing for the new GT500 has been announced Coupe Starts at $55K and Convertible at $60k
What a value and steal for 650hp and 600TQ. I willing to bet a pulley and a tune will bump the car to 700hp 650TQ EASY. Those are getting close to AMG 6.0L V12 numbers.
My next car purchase might be a GT500

Considering a 2012 Jeep SRT has a MSRP of $63K and dealers are asking $75k and it makes sub 500hp.
If I know Ford guys maybe the first 1yr there will be mark up, but that motor is gonna be around a whole long while in some variation. Much like the terminator cobra motors becoming create engines. I see a similar future, even if the stealer marks it up to $70k + tax its a steal!
Name 1 new car that has those power numbers up to 100k MSRP ? SUCK IT GT-R back of the line where Asain automakers should be.

The question is, "Will the GT500 be able to plant that power to the ground?"
An old Mustang friend used to make this joke about Supras. What does a 500hp Supra run? 11 seconds. What does an 1100 hp Supra run? 11 seconds.

It is a great time to be a high performance car enthusiast....so you shouldn't have to resort to slamming a Japanese car (GT-R) to express your preference and enthusiasm for the improved '13 GT500.
I personally love the GT500 and have seriously thought about getting one. However, I can pretty much guarantee that a stock '13 GT-R will smoke a stock '13 GT500 in the 1/4 mile and around a road course. But the GT-R should given its higher price tag and AWD.

The wife and I went down to the Atlanta Auto Show last night. Ford had the GT500 out on main display. It did look wicked, that is for sure. They had an awesome simulator that you could try out.
Disappointing that Mercedes & AMG bowed out and Porsche didn't show.
I would think AMG would want to show off their SLS, the C63AMG and the CLS63AMG. Nothing.
Lexus had their LFA there. It is bad ***, but for the dollars you could get a 458 and have change left over for insurance and gas !!
Maybe Benz opted out for the Atlanta Show but will participate in the larger venue locations.

The car looks sick ! I wonder if a stage 2 e55 would take it, or a stock one for that matter.
I know it has tons of power but like stated above what if it can't get the power to the ground ?
Awesome car none the less

I am willing to bet that car does 10's right out of the box....just add tires.

The new Mustang is no joke on a road circuit. Interior trim is typical domestic crap though.
Several ‘faster’ cars are hard pressed to do better than ~1:35 at Willow Springs.

Same thing i said. If they are released June you will see a 9 second car within 30 days and there will be at least 1 in the 8's within 3 months. Its took like 3 days i think it was and JPC had a 5.0 mustang in the 10's and they beat another company by a few hours.

You crazy **** I just bought my tickets to come out to GDF, SHWINNNNGG
Back on topic, not sure if you read, but the new GT500 is coming out with launch control fella's, that is a game changer. That car with a twin screw, launch control, drag setup with slicks will run deep 9's, maybe touch into high 8's with a good driver.
I will own one for sure, I already have the options, and color picked out in my mind
You know is Steve, that is WHY I LOVE American muscle, these ***** dont waste anytime. They move as quick as a pimp after a virgin on prom night. They also depreciate very fast, which is niceee for the pre-owned crowd.
