Hate to be a Toadster...Trunk Problem?

The trunk would open all the way and now stops working. Only opens up a little. The motor works since I push the close button and it sucks in shut also....any ideas?

Check trunk limiter in settings. It might be on.

Dj, this happened on my car 2 or 3 times already. I swear my car has a mind of its own, sometimes things work and sometimes things dont usually the trunk starts working after a few hours, I have no explanation.

Mine was working but I closed it manually and stopped working. Maybe disconnect the battery will sync it again?

Mine did this before but it went away on its own. I like to think I helped to fix it because I started pressing the trunk release button repeatedly (making the trunk open a little, then pause, then open, then pause, etc).

I think this function is temperature dependent. If it is cold it will not open all the way and just a little bit.

use search. theres a wire that breaks in the harness going to the closer button, you simply need to repair the wire.

It is indeed the wire on the left side that gets sliced.. This is why it works partly, once the harness moves to a certain position the wire no longer makes contact and the power is lost to the system, stopped the function.

I fixed mine a few months back and took lots of pics.. Let me see if I can find the pix and I'll post it as a DIY.. You can do it in less than 1 hour..

I did search but everything else wasn't for the motor, but will check it out.
