Should I buy this e55?
I'm about to purchase 2005 e55 with 65kmiles. It's clean car with all the service record for rear main seal, motor and trans mount, ball joints etc.. It also has renntech lowering modular with remote and euro 63 wheels. I got per purchase inspection and everything checked out.. Seller is asking $26k so after tax and tag will be about $28k. Is this worth it ??

Have you test drove it yet...or are you buying sight unseen? If it is local take it for a drive, otherwise, going off of the records and inspections results, sounds like a decent buy. It is a buyers market though so perhaps you can get him to go lower.

I drove it and it was nice.. Since it passes PPI I feel safe purchasing it but I was curious if $26 k for this car is good price.

I thought NAV came standard in 04
Only 03's came without.
How does it not have NAV? Should have the headunit so all you have to do is add the cd changer in the back.
YOu sure its an 05?

Private.. The guy will not come down because of all the recent maintance.. Everything was done around 57kmiles.. New brakes, rear main seal, mounts and ball joints. So I figured it was ok price with all that stuff already done..

rear main, $1200, brake pads $100 or so, add labor, mounts/ball joints $500 or so,
I paid dec 2010 for mine $25k for 05 w 55k miles had nav, rear shade, heated seats, pulse seats, auto trunk release. Since ownership replaced rear pads, valve cover leaky gaskets, fuel sending unit...So for that price, i would buy the car w/maintenace alreaduy done to it.

Dealer was $586 but was covered under my Easycare warranty that i had for several months and ended up cancelling since it didnt pay for my fuel sending unit $956 parts/labor. So add up the maintenance done by owner and you will see you have a good deal, not okay deal.
Nav can be bought on here in the for sale section or better yet get a garmin with lifetime updates for less. Rear shade? Just tint the back windshield.

Loudoun county.. i had Easycare and they denied a bunch of my claims after 4 months having it. Wanted me to provide the PPI/100 pt inspection that dealer did before putting the car for sale on the lot. EC did cover the valve cover, and shredded tire i had. But paying $5k for 4/48k miles wasnt worth it. So i got back most of my $$$

7 years old, over 60K miles, no way I'd spend $25,000 on this. You can get a 2009 E350 for that money with less miles.
The advantage on the used luxury market is when someone else takes the depreciation hit. In this deal, you're taking part of that hit. NFW.

Considering their is only so many of these cars out there, and it sounds like you've found "the one"...i personally would grab it, can you maybe save an extra thousand if you hunt around? always possible but the reality is your buying a $90K car for less than a third of it's new price...As for the Nav, I hate it in both my MB's, prefer my $100 Garmin anyday

E350s are a dime a dozen, in a search in the DC /Metro Area, there are over 200 listed for sale, E55s, lucky if you find 2 or 3 for sale.
