Who's front brake pads are you guys running?
With the attempted arrival of spring here in the buckeye state...it's time do have my front brakes done. I've done some research, but wanted to inquire with you fella's to see what kind of pads you're using. I'm definitely wanting something "low dust" if there is such a thing and they're worth the cost. I appreciate your feedback....

EBC reds, they squeel like hell for the first 100ish miles but perfect once bedded in, low dust, good bite. a bit of a pig to fit as poor design and need a bit of filing before the pads would fit into the caliper

I got the ECB yellows, have to say they feel a bit "hard" and think mbe reds would be better.
One thing about brake dust ... the less you have the more u chewing yre discs.....

EBC Reds also provide the best performance on a cold rotor and are virtually fade-free on hot rotors. Quite noticeable when on the Autobahn at 100+++ MPH when a Fiat 500 abruptly pulls out in front of you. I have lightweight rotors all around and while EBC's were not recommended, I have had no issues with them whatsoever. I can recommend EBC's without any reservations.

I cannot believe what I am reading...Just get a nice bottle of wheel cleaner (PS21 or other), clean once & dry, apply wheel wax, and cleaning will be much easier....I understand the dust issue, but you are either sacrificing braking quality or ripping your rotors apart...Just my $0.02

I'm only sacrificing initial bite and perhaps fade in extreme and constant braking ( such as circuit racing ). If I hammer the brakes I can very easily lock the wheels ( even when the brakes are cold ) which makes the tires the weakest link in a panic stop. Since I don't race in circuits and daily drive my car, I prefer clean wheels and calipers.

With the OEM, just one trip to the store and your front rims are grey.

Not even a few feet, there should be ZERO difference in stopping distance since both pads will lock the tires with ease. Only the tire type will make a difference in stopping distance and my front tires are Toyo T1R's which aren't exactly crap.

E55 w/ goods, Z32 Project underway
Brake dust appeal is all dependant on the style of wheel you have along with other fators. With my current Forgestars they are an absolute PITA to clean and would only be compounded with dusty pads. Some folks using their car as a DD might not have the time or patience to clean their wheels often depending on the rest of their life. For some that give their car top priority in life, and with the time, perhaps cleaning wheels daily is no big deal.
