new member, love my e55! Pics inside
Hey guys, picked up my baby last week and have seen the light! I've wanted an e55 so bad since I was 16 and always thaught "man id never be able to afford one" 8 years later and here we are! I love it so much right away started giving it the TLC it's deserved since day one.
Detailed it for 8 hours using Zaino products
Put it up on the lift to let the real fun start
Wiped down the entire suspension, motor, tranny with a rag and wd40
Changed motor mounts and tranny mount
Valve cover gaskets
K&N Air Filters
D/S Exh manifold was cracked at the end flange, took it out, welded it back to specs, new gaskets and back in she went
Put her on SDS scanner and did the 10C mod and of course the buzzer locking mod in the rear SAM
The sun roof motor was skipping gears, took it out and flipped the gear upside down works flawless now
Painted the grill black
All work was down slow and proper cleaning EVERYTHING as I went.. Its like therapy for me I swear!

Damn bro, got some skills to DIY work. Will save you lots of money. Congrats on the beast. I've always wanted this car when it came out out and finally able to get one!

-Removed grill
-320grit sandpaper for about 5 min
-600grit sandpaper another 5 min
-Cleaned with compressed air and a rag
-Rust-oleum semi-gloss black (about 8 LIGHT coats 5min in between)
-Rust-oleum crystal clear (2 coats)
wasnt happy with the clear coat (looked like sugar crystals all over the paint)
-2 more coats of the semi-gloss ontop to cover the clear
-Let it bake in the sun for about an hour
It came out a little textured but otherwise Im very happy with the outcome!

Nice ride. Why'd you clear the base coats then hit it with semi gloss?

Whats up neighbor lol, i also have a summer home in pompano beach, i was actually just down there 3 days ago.
Car is looking great, I'm still craving a 55 to this day. And i kno what you mean by therapy by cleaning the car and taking time and effort into each small thing. Def a Stress reliever
