Changing the intercooler/HE pump on an SL55, automatic bleeding system?
I am posting to this forum as it gets a lot more attention than the SL forum.
I am changing the intercooler/HE pump on my 2006 SL55 this evening with the updated Bosch 010 unit. The install looks pretty straight forward from what I can see except that I am unclear about bleeding the air out of the system after the install. I have read the procedure on how to do it for the E55 by putting the tube into the reservoir container but I have read somewhere that the SL's have an automatic bleeding system and do not have that extra tube. Is this true? Do I have to do anything after I install the pump to get the air out of the system or will the car do it on its own?
