SA quoted me parts and labor plus taxes was less than $1200. My SA told me it was under warranty, Mounts were worn out but they replace it anyway so I got it replaced for free.

I don't know if CPO goes thru a warranty company or not.

if it says warranty on ur bill, that means ur warranty is through MB. my aftermarket warranty just pays for repairs on their corporate credit card, so when I get the bill, it shows all the prices as if i was paying to everything myself...
as far a motor mounts not being covered, that is BS. it's all about how your SA words the repair needed. For example, my warranty does not cover door handles, but sensors are covered. Two of my keyless go door handles needed to be replaced. Dealer quoted the company "door handles" and they denied it. I called them and explained that the sensor in the handle failed, and the only way to fix is to replace the door handle. they covered it.
trouble with a lot of aftermarket warranties, is that they only cover the items listed. my warranty has a list of excluded items and it covers EVERYTHING else that's not excluded. I paid $4700 for my warranty and it paid for itself twice already. My first bill from the dealer was $7500 and the second one was $1500.

The problem is dealer always over price not only to customers specially to warranty companies. If they told you the repair bill is $7K and warranty company paid for it, I bet indy shop can do it at $3k or less. I don't have a problem to pay $500 for 2 engines mounts and 1 tranny mount but $1500 is 3 times excess. When they think about Ext warranty = MONEY

RE: Motor Mounts

The Chrysler contract posted above is different from mine. Not sure when you got it, but it excludes a lot of stuff that mine includes.

I had motor mounts and tranny mount done in my SL last Summer (drivers side mount leaked out it's fluid), which with the V12 entailed removal of engine and tranny from the car. I paid my deductable, Chrysler covered everything else. You don't want to know what the total tab was, my dealer had the car over 2 weeks, all new fluids, alignment, everything was covered without drama.

I have nothing but positive to say about Chrysler, they have professionally covered everything that has failed or broken on my SL for 2 years, and I have over 2 years left.

Understand you are ticked off, I would be too, but your warranty does still include a lot of things; I'd keep it as you will likely use it more than once before it expires.

I got mine 3 years ago..... how much did you pay for your warranty for 4 years ? I assume SL600 not cheap at all........ its much more complicated car than E55.

My Chrysler service contract is great. They have covered items that were excluded in the warranty. In fact, I got my wheel bearings replaced and it says in my policy they were not covered. If I could buy the warranty again on my next Mercedes. I would do it again without a doubt. Unfortunately, they don't cover Mercedes cars anymore.

Exactly. They will cover only if leaking. If flat but not leaking wont cover.

Here is my update. SA called me and said Oil pan leaking and its cover by Chrysler warranty so that's only thing is cover. I paid $120 oil change + $600 Engine mounts + $200 Deductive = $920 + tax. out of pocket.

They told me since they were going to seal the Oil pan so for 2 engine mounts they charged me $600 and went to pick up the car I was SHOCKED. They put 41 miles on it and gas dropped 30%. I was pissed and complained about it then the manager came in and told me its very normal to test the drive to find out the noise in the back i hear sometimes. I was WTF......... 41 miles ?!? seriosely normal for test drive or joy ride ?!?!!! Before I dropped the car few days back already told the SA NOT letting any joy ride as result they don't give a ****. Can you imagine how they drove that 41 miles using 30% of my gas ! From West Covina you can do round trip to LA downtown in 40 mils.
DON"T GO TO West Covina Penske Mercedes. THE WORST Dealer !

My personal friend is my service advisor over at House of Imports. I know for sure they would never do me wrong like that...his name is Charlie Kim if you're interested. He always finds ways to hook me up every time I bring the car in. P.S - if you get cool with the parts guy (young dude) he'll hook you up with employee prices for any part. I got my windshield reduced from $1300+tax to under $800. Huge discount if you ask me.

41 miles for 30% of your tank wow....have you checked your tires to see if there was any signs of abuse?

I didn't check my tires myself but they gave me a report that tires are 3mm front and rear so need to be replaced soon. I bought a new set of tires 1 month ago so need to change soon. I just can't believe they told me 41 miles is normal to do testing. Thanks for the tip but I don't think I will go back to Dealer anymore. (still have 4 months warranty left)

Wow.

I have the Mechanical Repair Coverage (Platinum plan) purchased through my credit union (underwritten by CUNA).

I brought my car to the dealer for a different issue (engine noise) which was diagnosed as a bad intake manifold gasket. They also found 2 motor mounts that need to be replaced.

My 3rd party extended service plan approved the repairs (approx. $2,200 total). All I will pay is my $100 deductible.
