I/C pump confusion and issue

Hey guys, which pump is it goes bad and needs to be changed. The small pitty pump behind the passenger side headlight or the one down by the h/e? I have changed the one behind the headlight, and I did not notice any big differences. Last night I hard wired the pump to a red wire behind the fuse box, which allows the pump to run when you put the ignition key in the second step. I heard some clicking behind the engine after I did this, sounding like relays or what not. I ran the car and it felt worse than when it wasnt hard wired. Has this happened to ayone or did I do something wrong?

It's the one near the H/E. The other one is a coolant pump for the radiator.

Damn! ok. So I changed the wrong one. So that small one behind the headlight should not be touched? What am I causing to happen by changing it? Could that be why my engine is running so hot?

Yes, a bad I/C pump will cause IATS to be sky high, ecu pulls major timing and your blower shuts down.

I recomend a meziere pump with 3/4 barb fittings.

I responded to your other thread; it sounded to me like you changed the wrong one. Do yourself a favor and go to Sears or wherever and get a couple hose clamping pliers, it makes the job super super easy.

Yes, I sure did. im such a dumbass. I already have a Johnson. Thanks guys. This explains a lot. I still dont understand why the engine is running so hot tho. Maybe its time for thermostat and water pump replace. Is getting a 180 degree thermostat good?
