E63 Battery Replacement options
The battery is reading just over 4 volts, so I'm guessing it's time for a new battery. I already tried a jump start and it didn't work.
My question involves, is there any replacement racing battery options?
I have a Optima Red Top 35 series battery in my STi due to it being a gel battery, and I love it and never have a problem with it! I take turns like a mad man, and I don't get that splashing effect of the regular batteries, and won't have battery acid all over my engine bay which has happened before with a regular battery. It's like a motorcycle battery, lighter and smaller.
Is there any kind of gel type battery replacement for the E63?
Can I get a Red top or Yellow top replacement from Optima. I love their stuff, and I can get their batteries for 75-150 bucks and that's significantly cheaper than OEM, but their website doesn't list any mercedes applications.

I am looking for replacements batteries for the E63 (the main one in the truck as well as the aux in engine compartment). I want the replacements batteries to be at least as powerful, and lighter than the as the OEM one. My car is a daily driver and I am not looking for the lightest batteries possible (no lithium for me), I want reliable starting capabilities and a decent reserve of power to be able to use electronics without second thoughts.
Some background info on the Dual batteries system in our cars:

So the main battery is DIN 520A and the aux battery is DIN 170A? What is the corresponding group # for the US market?
I have used Odyssey Batteries in my previous vehicle and love how they are around twice as powerful for the same size and weight. Any one used them in their AMG?

Clean Wagon btw timetoy!
If I get some info I'll post it up on here so you can get some info too.
Duralast Gold, Yellow 850 Cold Crank $125
Duralast Platinum 850 Cold Crank $155
Funny thing is my STi decided to spew out coolant everywhere from somewhere on the top hose. Needed to do the timing belt and components anyway and I had all the racing parts I bought sitting in the garage, so I pulled the radiator out and got to the timing cover, removed most of it, but need a crank pulley remover or at least an air ratchet to remove that one bolt.
So the right thing to do is go and buy one right? Well, I whip out the AMG keys, and no power at all. I think my renntech v2 elm was draining power 24/7. I'll figure this out, just gonna go to autozone or oriellys and find out what I can do to get at least one of my cars running!

Advance Auto has a perfect replacement for our trunk battery, part number AutoCraft 49HB. It is around $125 installed.
I drove to local Advance Auto, they kept juice to the car and replaced battery in under 30 minutes. The new battery fits perfectly, has vent just like OEM and comes with lots of warranty. Quality looks to be excellent.
My car starts like new again, and ran noticably smoother at red lights etc. with new battery as the alternator was likely working much harder before to compensate for weak OEM battery.
All the best

I ended up buying an ORielly's brand AGM (gel) type battery for much cheaper.
