2005 E55. 18" AMG Rims. Prefer Michelin Pilot Sport. What is the BIGGEST tires I can put on the back with NO RUBBING?

many 285/30/18 tire will fit - but there are a lot of guys running 275/35/18 as they're a bit closer to the OEM diameter

I wouldn't recommend running a 285 on a 9" wide wheel..

To the OP, I would go 275/35/18

I agree. That is what I'm running.

I just mounted my Michelin PSS 275s on a set of 18" CLS split-spoke (9.5" wide) wheels... Even with the more "flush" offset of the CLS wheel they don't rub in any of the factory modes (comfort, sport 1, sport 2). When I install my ELM and slam it that will be the true test..... They DO look killer already.

For the record, the 275s didn't rub on the stock 9" wide wheels either.

Go with 275/35/18 and you'll be perfect. Remember 275's can be wider than 285's just depends on the brand.

I run Conti DWS 275 on mine, and they look huge! They're almost bulging off the rim so I recommend those.

My $.02.

Why would you get the DWS? Just get the DW, an all season on this car would be a real shame

I got DWS as they were a bit cheaper and (I believe) had a higher treadlife than DW. I drive 100 miles to and from work daily so treadlife was important to me.

As far as them hooking up, my DWS do just fine! (See vid in sig below for proof.)
