What is a normal IAT value for a bone stock E55?
Not really new here, but don't really post much, as I normally just read. I am new to owning an E55. Its an '06, bone stock, 38k miles. Out of curiousity I put my LM-2 data logger on it and with an ambient air temperature around 60°F it read an intake temperature of 119°F. On the freeway cruising around 75mph, it was reading in the high 120's. I made a 3rd gear pull and the temp peaked at 158°F, then took about 5 minutes to cool back to 140°F.
So far I've searched for "normal intake temp" and "normal IAT" and have found values for modded cars, but nothing for a stock car.
What is a normal Intake Air Temperature for a stock E55?
I've also read that the ECU controls the intercooler pump. What temperature is it programmed to turn on at? Also is ECU using a PID or PWM control to try to hold the intake air at a given temp, or does it just trigger a relay to start the pump?
