Safe to idle the car without the serpentine belt for a few minutes?
I am trying to track down a noise coming from what I believe is one of the pulleys. I know that it is ok to run the car without the supercharger belt but what about the serpentine belt? Would it be safe to idle the car for a couple of minutes without the serpentine and supercharger belt? Or would it throw a CEL and cause any damage? Thanks...

The only thing you have to worry about is coolant temp. The battery should easily outlast the coolant temp so just look out for that. And even then, if the engine is cold, you may EASILY get about 5-10 minutes without the engine overheating.

I recently thought I had a bad pulley and replaced the supercharger idler pulley and the other 2 to the left of it (the double pulley). It was the supercharger belt making the noise, it was just time for a new one. Also a quick little good recommendation was made to spray a little wd-40 on the belt (I sprayed straight down on the smooth side) to see if the noise stops which it did showing me it was the belt that was bad causing the noise. You could probably spray anything on the belt to see if the noise goes away (at least briefly) to rule the belt out as the problem.
