As you wind up the motor the supercharger will spin faster forcing more air into your motor. The cars ECU will see the added volume of air and compensate with more fuel but you should get the car tuned to be on the safe side.

There is some dangerous information in this thread. All I will say is be very careful running more boost with no tune, sure the ecu can compensate to a certain point. No way I would chance it with a $70k motor.

I think people need to do more research on parts before they just slap them on their car..What are you even doing installing a s/c pulley on your car if you dont know what it does

I got mind installed and waiting for the tune now, I do worried about the AFR so I haven't been running more than 5K rpm too. just wonder if people with the new s/c pulley still get the chrip? I already put the 2 shims that came together, should I add some more? Thanks for the inputs.

The pulley has been installed and my buddy told me he didn't see the need for the shims...hmm. I'll keep it and perhaps after break-in I'll need it. I think mines came with 3-4. I'm just waiting on the Eurocharged guy to come and retune now.

I have this s/c pulley and a 3-piece ASP pulley set going on my car next weekend along with a new Gates HD green belt. Can't wait to get rid of the herky/jerky boost engagement and add more power! Jerry's going to retune it next month when he's out here for EC dyno day in SF. I just can't leave my vehicles stock, it's a sickness lol.

Since this thread is back to the top I guess I might as well chime in with a progress report on my new s/c pulley. After getting off to a little bit of a rocky start with the initial shim set up, the pulley has performed flawlessly for the last couple thousand miles. Engagement is very solid and there is no belt slippage or signs of wear to the pulley... Just ask the C6 Corvette I smoked the other day. We went from a slow roll up to about about 90 mph and I walked away from him so bad that he wouldn't even pull up next to me afterwards. He turned tail at the first opportunity never to be seen again.
