Smile Injector Information Help

I know a good and well solution for better Injectors are the 550cc Injectors offered by TTM,Eurocharged, Fab etc. However just to be difficult and gain some knowledge.........

After having done some homework on Injectors, I have come up with some of the following information.

A1550780049 is the SLR injector part number from mercedes and the Bosch P/N for the same plug is 0-280-156-148.

The SLR Injectors are 6 hole spray and blue in color as opposed to the E55 being 4 hole and black in color.

Standard e55 are 3.09 per gram per minute at 3 bar
(412cc/min @ 3bars that means 39.23Lb/hour)

SLR 3.39 per gram at 3 bar

One thing I could not get much information on was the spec of the 2006 E55 Injectors which are supposed to have the same flow rating as the SLR Injectors (3.39 gram at 3 bar) but a 4 hole not 6.

Anyone with additional info on the 2006 Injectors??

Is it as important for the 2006 E55's to upgrade injectors considering they flow better than the rest of the years?

The P/N for the 2006 E55 are 1130780123 which is the same as Bosch 0280156304. They do flow more than the previous injectors as you pointed out and are baby blue in color. They clearly will provide some much needed margin but they still will get above 80% duty cycle on a stage 3 car. In my case they were at 92% so I didn't want to chance it.

Awesome , thank you for that . What mods do you have done to your car , good call on not taking a chance. I know a few members have upgraded to SLR , do you think there is a huge benefit going to 6 hole from 4 hole ?

Not sure that the difference will be significant enough to matter. I think as long as its a dual pattern so it splits for the intake valves, you are golden.

I have all the typical stuff. 180 pulley, headers, 82mm tb, no cats, and a custom y-pipe.

Remember, the SLR has a closed loop rail. 6 port injectors provide increased atomization of the fuel.

Could it be an early 2006? What is the production date.
