How much did you get it for? I've seen them online at ECS and some other places. My fan sounds like it's moving a lot of air, but it isn't so great. When it's really hot, I would close all of the other vents in the back and on passenger side to maximize my airflow.

The DIY shouldn't be that difficult on the hose swap itself, but you will need to have the R134 that's in the system evacuated and then have the system filled afterwards. Most of us non-professional mechanics don't have the equipment for that.
