How is the throttle response?
How is the throttle response on the Mercedes-Benz E55 AMG? Is the power "right-now" and "immediate" or is it the "tip-in" type?
Secondly, why are most Mercedes-Benz cars so unresponsive to the throttle? What is Mercedes-Benz's reason for having such a "slow" throttle response?

kain, it's the weekend and some forum members (I guess not me) have a life and aren't on the web 24/7. My E55 doesn't arrive for 3 to 4 months so I can only comment on the E500, which has, IMO, an immediate throttle response!!

Fairly crisp from my perspective. It is a bit lurchy when the Kompressor kicks in sometimes if you catch it just wrong.
I think this depends on what you are going to compare it to.
What is your point of reference? It is not as quick as my old 360 but I never thought it would be. I think the issue is far more the trans.

Have you ever met any of those guys? I have much less faith in the reviews of magazines these days after having my E55 delivered. This crap about catchy grabby brakes seems to be another bandwagon that they all jumped on when looking for one thing to say bad about the car. Not bad but in need of improvement.......
