W211 E55 Limp mode?
Hey guys, I'm new to the Mercedes scene. I've had several BMW's in the past and this is my (technically second, but that's a long story) first mercedes. I have a 2005 e55 and I've enjoyed it very much for the past week that I've owned it. However, there is a problem when I hit WOT. I can depress the throttle until just before the kickdown switch and it drives fine. As soon as I hit the pedal to the kickdown switch and release it, the car goes into "limp mode" and the acceleration is terrible. I don't know the technical term for the mercedes version of this limp mode, but if anyone has any ideas on how to fix this I would greatly appreciate it. I've done searches on the forums and I haven't found anything for the 05 and up e55's. I've found several links for 00 - 03 e55's and I can't find the parts described in these threads for the w211's. Again, I hope someone has an answer for me. Thank you in advance for any and all ideas. (If there are threads on this topic, please just give me the link, I must have not searched the appropriate terms.) ![drive](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/driving.gif)

Are you getting any messages on the dash? What exactly does it feel like is happening? Wonder if maybe its just hot from a dead intercooler pump.

Thanks for the quick replies. There are no lights, no messages, nothing different except the lack of power and acceleration rate. I've read somewhere else that the IC pump may be the culprit, but then I read elsewhere about the throttle position sensor. I will replace the IC pump and see if that fixes it. If it were the supercharger, wouldn't there be a message/check engine light coming on?
I appreciate the feedback!
