A question about headers

I am thinking about purchasing some headers for my 04 E55 AMG. There are a few different brands I'm looking at. MHP, Kleeman, EC, and MBH. I would like to know which one of these brands gives the best performance gains and have the best quality(longevity). I've used the search to look for similar threads but have not found any. Any input/advise will be much appreciated. Thanks

EDIT: Also see - https://mbworld.org/forums/w211-amg/...er-issues.html

E55 w/ goods, Z32 Project underway
You have to understand that the 'best' is dependent to what the person owns. Unless a few here have had all of your choices. You would have better luck with a ,'Have you had problems with your header' like question to weed out the garbage. Most folks enjoy crap because their expectations are set on crap until they find something better. Look at the iPhone 4S for example. LOL..

Not true the iphone 4s is the bench mark for smartphones.
To help answer ur question kleemann are good as far as i know they r mid length and weld in but, they do not have a warranty and some have been know to crack. MBH are a little more pricey but they have a lifetime warranty and are long tube and have a guarantee of 40 wheel hp i believe. the choice is urs lol

Not correct. Kleemann offer 1 year warranty. If any crack happens just weld it, this will make it stronger. Of course, MBH is better quality with life time warranty but 3 times more expensive. If breaks, you still have to remove and ship back to manufacture so the cost will high. If you buy the Kleemann from Kleemann, they offer 1 year warranty and great price in ECU tune.

I have put in quite a few different brands. I would recommend long tubes with pipes that completely replace your factory cat sections. Kleemann crack and getting them properly installed so that they do not have a kink costs more. It normally takes a couple of mandrel bends and some fab time. And your factory cats get cut off the stock system. If you do not like exhaust leaks then get a welded collector set like MBH or the ARH headers. Any brand with a slip fit collector will have small leaks. Some people care and some do not.

We have had a great experience with all the headers we purchase from MBH and it is excellent quality compared to the other header products in my opinoin.

Here is a picture of a set of S55 headers we purchased from them,

Thanks
Aleks

I am also considering LTHs and wonder, why you are not considering SuperSprint's?

From what I have researched they look one of the best.

I haven't heard of any members on here with w211 E55's that have used them. But I guess I can look into those as well.

E63s - AMG and M6
Supersprint are the best when it comes to manufacturing headers.

They have a true equal length design. They put a lot of R&D into their products. This is why the cost is so high.

it's interesting all the non-US posters mention supersprint (no doubt due to their superior international distributorship), while the US folks all speak of MBH.

if only Supersprint's headers aren't 50% more than the US-made products.

American Racing Headers are not on your list and should be. They are beasts, and are very well known in the American Muscle Car circles, they would be on my car if I did not already have floored fab longtubes.

LOL

I'll put my Evo 4G against it any day. Faster processor, more RAM, external storage, larger IPS screen with higher resolution, bigger battery, better camera, better OS, the list goes on.

Oh, MBH or TTM FTW.

Not quite true, I had an issue with my MBH headers contacting the steering linkage on left hand turns. I talked to Mike about it and he went to work. He ended up re-designing the jig for the header after testing out a new set on a E55. Once that was done he sent me a brand new drivers side header for free, he is even paying for the re-installation costs.

No doubt in MBH quality and service but Kleemann header only $1K. Can you find a better deal a mid tube header and proved hp gain for $1k ??? The fastest E55 in board use Kleemann header BTW. About Super Sprint, I remember a vendor tried to sell for $9K few months back.......... they have no idea how much the 55 worth today.

Thats what I thought until i got a 4s. All the other phones freeze/lock up.
Not the iphone, NEVER. It is the smoothest operating system.
Everyone plays catchup with it, remember??

Oh ya on topic, well my kleemann's cracked, so I'll vote MBH

I'm with you, if it wasn't for apple you would still be using your flip phone, the best ideas are often stolen, look at any pc based phone these days.. On topic if money is no object buy MBH and never look back, do not buy EC headers, fit sucks, they hang way to low, o2 sensor bungs are horribly placed...
