White 07 E63 for $38911 - Anyone Know the Car?

Hey guys, its been awhile since I have been around the forum. Im looking at this White 2007 E63 and need some advice.

I ran a carfax and I see somethings that concern me.

1. The car has been sitting since March.
2. The engine has been checked a few times
3. Lots if various checks and things

How can I get the vehicle service history on the car? I called the Benz dealer who is going to do the pre purchase inspection Friday and they said they wont give me the history....

It looks like the car was sold by the Chrysler store in March, but the sale fell through. The other dealer "checks" may or may not mean anything other than maintenance.

If you are considering buying the car, take it to a Benz dealer for PPI who will at least show you a copy of the VMI service history, some will and some won't. Be sure to get a warranty if you buy it.

Miles are a tad high, but it looks nice.

For reference, I purchased 2007 E63 with then 47,xxx miles for $38,750 just about a year ago. No warranty.

You will need to look at the brakes as they are a more than average cost. My PPI showed my car would need brakes within 10-15,000 miles. I was quoted $2700 just for the fronts by a MB dealer. Rotors have to be replaced, can not be turned. If the last hole in the cross drilled disk has gotten noticeably smaller, you will be looking at brakes sooner than later.

My PPI did NOT mention the fuel sending issue. You may want to request that specifically to be checked. It is easily checked by lifting the rear seat and removing the cover plate, i think its a 8mm socket. If the fuel sending unnit is leaking, you will want to push for a new tank and not just the unit, trust me and others here about this.

Good luck with your purchase, its an awesome car. Just have to be willing to put some time/money into it. Maybe get a car fax but even that is not as good as a service history from a MB dealer. If repairs were done at an indie shop then they will not be on record at MB either.

I'm getting ready to trade my '07 with 49k miles on a new SUV. Flawless car with all options but pano. Silver/black.

If you want to chat, email me at peterdpalmer01@gmail.com. I would let it go for a couple grand less than the listing on that car and can give you a full history on the car.

I hope the OP got it, car does look to be gone. There was a nice one for sale in Raleigh with 32K miles....at a Chrysler dealer no less.....for a couple of weeks I was going to post the link, but just confirmed it was sold.

I must be the low mileage guy at this point, just turned 28K last week and I have warranty through 12-15. Mine has never looked or run better, and is staying in my garage a few more seasons. I'm as happy with it as the day I bought it three years ago.

Just 28k miles?? WOW!! I am on the opposite end of the spectrum with my E63 AMG. The car makes multiple runs from Indianapolis to just north of Toronto during the year, as well as being a daily driver...so we drive it A LOT!! After buying it a few years ago with very low mileage we have piled them on, and now have over 73k miles on it, and love it more and more by the day.

Yes sir, I should take delivery of it tomorrow afternoon.

I had MB do a PPI and we found that the front pads were toast, brake fluid and tranny service were in need as well as a faulty Cig. lighter. The dealer fixed all of that stuff so that was great.

I just ordered a matte black grill and looking at dropping the ride height as well. Oh, and of course some new shoes will be in order once I find the right look.
