So I am relocating to Houston, TX within the next 30 days for work. I welcome any pointers from members local to the area on the better communities for family, not too far from IAH airport - my AOR.

Definitely Spring, The Woodlands, or Tomball which are all in the same radius. I live in Spring and it's a very family oriented area and is growing daily. Even Exxon is building their new campus up this way. I've lived in Spring most of my childhood and ended up buying a home here as well. We're literally a 10 to 15 minute drive from IAH airport. Another option is Kingwood/Humble area. Welcome to Houston and we welcome another AMG to our area!

Thank you very much cmusngi, we are looking forward to moving. Looking to arrange transport for the E55 and the ML from Northern Cali. I will search for homes in the area's suggested. Have heard a bit about Kingwood. Hopefully I will meet up with all the Houston Crew eventually.

Buy ASAP before Exxon drives up the prices anymore. Love this city. I'm an in the looper but I love all Houston has to offer. I work by IAH and live south of downtown. Once you get to know houston traffic isn't bad. Spring/ woodland will do you well.

I definitely agree with cmusngi, I grew up in Spring and can vouch for what he said. Plus you have access to various major highways, beltway, and you're only about 30 minutes from downtown. Welcome to Houston.

I appreciate the comments and suggestions. This is exactly what I was hoping to get from you folks. Of course when I get there I will need a recommendation for a good shop for the cars but that can wait.

Since your place of work is close by the airport I would suggest Kingwood or Woodlands

Must be a heck of an offer. Leaving the bay is enough, but h-town from the bay? Better invest in a nice place in whistler or something. Good luck to you, bro.

Really appreciate everyone's honest feedback. We have narrowed it down quite well and should have a place in either Woodlands or Kingwood area in a few.
