Supercharger cutting off !!!
So I decided to to drive the beast today being I havent drove her for almost 2 weeks. I live in Tampa FL and this time of yr it's hell on earth here, not only the heat but The damn humidity is crazy. So I'm driving on the high way doing some pulls from 60 and 70 MPH and one of the times I punch it and hear no whine from the blower and i felt I lost 100 HP or more. I know I know IC pump but the coolant temp is always at 85-90 degrees Celsius. Plus when I got off I punch the throttle again and the superchargers working I don't get it. I have a EC heat exchanger so idk maybe that still is not enough for this FL heat. Any ideas ?
Thanks everyone

It's not the coolant temp but the iats
go buy a cheap scan gauge and look at your iats I'm sure they are over 180*
either get a better cooling system or don't beat on your car in 100* weather

Ya that's what I figured. I wasn't really beating on it to begin with a few pulls and that's it. The only thing I can think of is a trunk reservoir being I have already upgraded the heat exchanger

Ya but remember in that fl heat with the humidity , the sc will create lots of heat and a few pulls is all it takes for the temps to climb...even with the trunk tank it will help but the temps will still climb but will go down quicker than if you didn't have one

So what would u suggest I do to beat the heat lol

Get a Johnson or Meziere and separate the cooling system. It won't happen again. Don't worry about the trunk tank unless you upgrade the pulley. The headers will also help.

I don't have a split system and use a bosch pump and a couple of days ago I did some 40-100mph pulls in 100* heat and my IAT's never even touched 150*. You have a bad pump or air in your system.

im so glad i read this thread. my pump must be completely shot, i sometimes loose the supercharger after only 2 long pulls. i always thought it was just how all e55's were and that was a down side of the heat issues. glad to hear i can take car of this issue for cheap lol

A few simple upgrades will take care of your issue. Your problem is your supercharger is suffering from heat soak causing it to shut down. Installing an upgraded heat exchanger and better flowing inner cooler pumper will take care of your issues. You can go a step further and separate the cooling system for just the supercharger. Contact Steve at Fabtech-performance for a great deal and a wealth of knowledge. I am pretty sure that he is located in Florida as well.

update, Im not so sure the pump is dead. my car was just pulling real hard from 30-50 rolls. I think the iats got to high and that was the cause of it shutting off. If it was dead the supercharger wouldnt b working period right ?
