Raced CLS63 Biturbo Tonight
Coming home on San Tomas tonight, I'm playing around with a G37s sedan and I see these new LED headlights flying up behind me. Alongside at the light rolls a new CLS63 and I see V8 bi-turbo on the fender...I knew it was on.
Light goes green, we both go wide open and he gets a slight jump on me as I was trying not to smoke the tires. I reeled him in and we're dead even going into an S in the road doing 100+mph. There were cars ahead so I threw the anchor and he stayed in it doing triple the speed limit and caught the next light at El Camino.
I roll up next to him at the light and lower the window, he does the same. Indian/Paki looking guy, he asks me if it's an E63 and I say no, modded E55. He was surprised how fast it was and I told him his car was a beast. He said it was stock, but didn't have the AMG package. We both gave props and I wanted another run.
No cars in front of us or cops around and we both launched hard, this time I get a slight jump on him. I have ESP off and throttle is buried up to about 125mph and he stayed right there, but never passed me. We caught the light at Cabrillo and I took a quick left and got lost before things got too crazy. Could smell the brakes burning from the last hard stop.
That car was damn fast, but I'm proud of the 'ol E55 for hanging with a new bi-turbo CLS. I'm sure if it was the AMG with the PP, I'd have been looking at tail-lights, but I'm doing headers and throttle body soon since MB has seriously raised the bar with this new twin-turbo engine. The tail lights on those new CLSs look killer at night too...very sexy car and wicked fast.
No plans to trade up to a new E63 or CLS63, but they are very impressive!![EEK!](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/eek.gif)

I was wondering the same thing. Hopefully the OP will clarify. I know some of the new R231, SL550 guys are slapping bi-Turbo badges on the side of their cars. They technically are bi-turbo V8s, just not the big 5.5

I ran a CLS63tt I was infront about half a car length and he started to pull very slowly around 120mph but we ran out of road so I won
.. We both use the same detailer and I told him to call me or to tell the guy to rerun me but he said the guy refuses to rerun..
No bueno..

he probably meant no /////AMG Performance package. I have seen them put 490 the wheels so the out come sounds about right. I dont know what they put down with the performance package but, if the cls would of have had an AMS,Kleeman, renntech tune he would have gotten his doors blown off forsure. I think they put 560-570 to the wheels with just a tune

A tuned C218 runs low 11's and traps in the mid 120's.

Yes, the guy said he didn't have the AMG Performance Package. It was an AMG CLS63TT. That thing was damn fast, I guess I need to keep modding.

Yes you will have to because a PP is that much faster than a non PP and a tuned TT (doesnt matter if PP or not since they both get maxed) is another 5 car lengths on a PP car.

Yeah, I can't imagine how fast the PP tuned TT car must be, they are pretty awesome. Long live AMG! :-)

I drove Andy from MHP's E63 Biturbo that had the PP package I believe, along with an aftermarket MHP tune.
Let me say this, dont even bother racing those cars, not unless you just want to see the thing accelerate away. No E55 on this board could run with them, period.
Just to give you a real world example on how fast they are, Clayton (Benz-o-Rama) ran Andy's tuned SLS AMG Gullwing up at Timmayfest. Well Claytons car is a V12 TT with a Speed Driven tune and runs 11.0, the SLS did walk away slowly on the highway from Benzo. I was in the E63 TT trying to catch up but did not make it.
After the runs, I asked Andy, how does the E63 TT compare to his Gulwing, he said there is no comparison. The E63 walks the gulwing badly from a role on!

It was silver. Have had about 10 more street kills since then. Played with an R8 V10 on the way to work the other day. We couldn't get a clean run due to traffic, but that thing was very quick.
