w211 e63 subwoofer help

About to rip out the factory sub and install a trunk set up. I have read through every thread and I am left with just two more questions.
1. The factory sub has two plugs, does this mean that the factory sub is a dual voice coil?
2. Does anyone know if the speak wires going to the factory sub is already a low pass or is it like all of the other speakers (both hi/low)??

@Roverron - So I am using a Fosgate PBR500x1 that has high level and low level inputs. Can I just tap into the factory sub speaker wires, for each coil, and go directly into the PBR500x1 or should I do it differently?

If you have high level inputs you should not need a converter. Although I used one anyway with my JL 1000/V2 just to be safe and plugged into the low level inputs

Which speaker wires did you tap into for your signals?

I used both pairs of Subwoofer wires. I believe they were yellow and yellow/brown and can't remember the other colors, btw the striped wires are the negative, found a wiring diagram for car on this forum. If you pop of the cover in the rear window you will see both pairs of wires. I just clipped the connectors off and pulled them into the trunk. I'm using this converterhttp://www.ebay.com/itm/150853467089...84.m1439.l2649 and it works great.

use a converter to be safe and thats all you have to do. you might want some kind of level adjustment up front
