I 'm planning to change the ignition correction to retard timing to min 93 octane (RON). This is okay for 91 octane (AKI) because 91 AKI = 95 RON, correct? I'm located in CA where premium tier petrol = 91 AKI. Just want some confirmation?
Also, does this change even benefit (or improve) performance?
This is under: Control Units > Drive ME-SFI 2.8 > Control Unit Adaptations > Correction Programming > Ignition > Correction Value of RON
Thanks guys!![thumbs](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)

I'm also in California and run 91 and Eurocharged 91 tune. Did you ever change this setting to 93 in DAS and did it make any difference? Mine is set to the base value for RON. I assume the Eurocharged ignition map overrides this factory setting anyway?

Set it to base value and the ecu will learn the octane reading of the fuel in the car with the help of the knock sensors. Safest option

That makes sense Shardul. Will go ahead and leave it at the base setting.
