Weight savings, porting and engine wrenching.

Battery went dead, so got a C6 corvette battry for free and took 30lbs of the stock battery, external and internal engine weight savings, took antother 16 lbs off and then did my rear rotors with aluminum hats for 60lbs off total.

Ported the blower some more but mainly worked on the air ports to the heads. Used clay plaster to form the port mold and then duplicated the fit for each hole.

Block, heads and cams are installed now. Cam timing is always a little tricky, when parts are just laying in a labelled box. The MB cam locks are a must , when engine is torn down this far. IMO Note cam lock near cam sprocket.

Cams in the head.

About to put blower on, wire harness, ABC pump and drop in. Waiting on a few more goodies.

Sorry for the silly question, but any negatives from using the c6 battery? Is it ok to use the c6 battery in a daily driver e55?

That would look a lot better than what I have. I have 19" CLS wheels for daily driving, roll racing and mile. SAL (UrNext) hooked me up with his dragpack last year but never had a chance to run the set yet.

AMG E Power Coming together nice when will the beast be totally finished ?
I hope to drop the motor in this weekend and then start it up soon afterwards. My ABC system leaked pressure and will take some work to re-charge it after 10 months. My headers are for an E55, so the drivers side may need to be re-wroked some for my CL frame. This is Hadi-Law`s old motor and only cleaned it up, inspected, balanced and added forged pistons/rings.

02cl55amg Who/where did you get those rotors from?
short answer is, I bought a set of Evossport rotors for a SL55 and they did not fit my CL, so I had custom hats made to fit. Was not a good deal and would not advise going this route.

jcjmw Sorry for the silly question, but any negatives from using the c6 battery? Is it ok to use the c6 battery in a daily driver e55?
Most the drag racers run the 160 dollar 15 lb battery but not good for day to day , IMO.. The Vet battery calulates to work for day to day but I have not tested it yet, just stuck it in. Itc has a lot more storage juice than the race battery, that some use for extended periods but I rather give up 15 lbs and not get stuck.

OEM cams?
Was tempted to change cams but not going to at this time.

e55amgrocket un-ported heads?
Same ported heads and stock low lift, wide lobe seperation lift cams.

Here are a few more updates.

Custom fuel rail to accomodate my aftermarket 044 pumps and 8an fuel line./ Most of all, get rid of the 5mm stock T fuel inlet. Kind of a waste working on the fuel rail, if you don`t address the tiny 5mm fuel rail inlet connection. IMO

Simple Y connection for 8an to duel 6an line transition.

Our beltwrap kit and smaller SC pulley, plus I used an extra green HD belt I had laying around. Not a big fan of green but will see how it last.

Almost ready to start but will have to have car towed to get the headers completed for it. I powdercoated the tanks and valve covers charcoal , just to help keep motor clean and add a little customization.

I estimate that it took me about 60 hours to do the job on my garage floor and not using a lift. Lot of time was spent reading procedures, specs and only being able to give it a couple hours at a time. The ABC system also took a lot of time and the E class does not have to deal that system.

Those are the knock sensors in the valley correct? Just curious, still learning these motors.

Yes, my duel intake will be going back on but stock intake is just for start up, set all the fluid levels and ABC system. I also have stock open manifolds on, as still waiting on my headers to be adjusted for the CL frame.

Those are the stock sensor location but some of us are running aftermarket external sensors as well. Couple of places to mount those on the engine with easy access. If you need any othr picture angles or location of other componets, let me know and I will look for those.

LOL, got to love the jokesters...

I been invited and comped to several big races coming up, so hope the new motors get completed soon. The new 3 litre Supercharger kits coming out by some of the sponsors are game changers!! Really exciting to see this R&D being completed!!

Rumors of a huge private rental coming up at our world class X- HRP track as well, now known as Royal purple raceway.

I have a lot of new go fast parts on this motor and more being made.. Yes, I was bored for 10 months and may look for an E55 to drop one of the motors in and also get a CL65 for some turbo fun. Shardul`s new S600 V12 sounds sick, so I got a v12 itch real bad!

My boost will be the same or a little more than last year. I am still at 200 mm crank pulley equivalent but did it with much lighter parts, thanks to the low inertia help from the SC power pulley. As mentioned, this is just Hadi old motor that I quickly spruced up to get back on the road, while my big cubic inch steel sleeved blocks are being made. Lot of these projects take a year or more, so had to go to back up plans to keep having fun.

Looking good, interesting on the y-adapter for your fuel feeds. Curious how that will work out long term.
