Bulb type for E55 fogs..? 5000K Philips Diamond Vision vs. HID
What is the bulb type for the factory fog bulb? (H4, H1, H7???)
There doesn't seem to be a simple way to match up the fog lights to the factory Bi-Xenons.
Apparently the D.O.T. got involved and is blocking the sale of the bulbs that would make this easy (Philips Diamond Vision 5000K) though they appear to be available from outside the US if you're willing to take a chance on counterfeits, etc.
I've seen some threads where guys went with a 5000K HID conversion kit instead, but it seems to add more complexity and effort to something that could just be a simple bulb swap?
Does anyone have a weblink to a reputable source for the Philips bulbs? I tried going to a vendor (AZN Optics) but they can't sell them directly due to the D.O.T. restrictions)

OEM size for the fogs is 9006. I went throught 3 or so diff color temp bulbs to find a good match to my D2S Osram Cool Blue Intense 5000k bulbs.
And sorry I really have no idea where is got my current setup and what color temp they eneded up being. Hitting a raccoon back a few weeks damaged the fog housing on on side and will now have to try to hope they aren't damaged and can save them or start my process all over again.
Ddmtuning is good source for kits though.
