2005 E55 for Sale - What Price?
As I mentioned in my previous thread, I am looking at a few extremely low mileage 07 SL55 and even considering a really low mileage 05 SL65 but I cant get around the fact that the 05 is going on 8 years old and no warranty. 07 Sl55 are going in the mid 50s which is a good number for such a great car.
By the way I had an ML550 and loved it. Great power and really comfortable. If you really want power look at 06 Cayenne turbo S's. They are reasonably priced and the bang for the buck is impressive.
At this point I want to keep my E and get another car for the family and the SL doesnt cut it, so right now I'm looking around at options like another E, CL, S, or even an ML?
I would consider your car for myself, but I don't want two silver E55's
I would think you should see somewhere around $30K for you car do to how clean it is and the milage - GL
My last three cars including my E55, Cayenne Turbo S and Dodge Viper have all been bought slightly used at a third of the original value.
As for being beat on, I disagree with that comment also. I have actually found the opposite to be true. Many of the people purchasing these cars buy it and stick it in their garage to look pretty. Most are older folks who use these cars as their weekend sports car. I bought mine at 5 years old with 17k miles on it and well taken care of. I am also looking at two 2005 SL65s with less that 7000 miles on them. While some are driven and possibly driven hard, there are plenty on the market with extremely low mileage and babied.
In my area, lots of the AMGs are driven by women. Typically, they go to the dealership with their husband and just buy the best one available and use them as dds. After the warranty is up, they just trade them in for another new car. In the secondary market, the car becomes affordable to most people as they will not take a huge hit on depreciation. At this point enthusiasts like us buy them and hopefully care for them accordingly. OTOH, some people stretch to just make payments on these cars, then when something breaks, repairs get deferred and the car starts its decline.
