Torque Convertor Clutch Solenoid issue ?
A few weeks back my '06 E55 went limp and then some .. accelerating on the highway (not heavily, just got up to about 65 or so) started going up a bridge and no acceleration left - pedal was dead. I can hear and see rev, but no response from the tranny.
Came down the bridge, pulled off and as I was pulling into a parking lot, all was fine again. I proceeded with my day. This was all while in sport S mode and figured it may not have completely shifted - TCU had a brainfart !
Skip to today .. ran a few errands, grabbed something to eat and pulling into my driveway I had to push the pedal fairly far down to make it in. Pulling into my garage I was a bit concerned, threw it in reverse and Nothing ! Recycled the ignition and all was oddly 'fine' again. I backed out and pulled in again and all seemed normal with exception to the 'jerk' when engaging F or R.
Then I tried to take it out of S and back to C - no dice. For the hell of it I tried the paddles - no dice. S or nothing and now with a CEL. Pulled the codes and there were two, both of them were:
P0743 - Torque Convertor Clutch Solenoid Electrical.
I searched, A Lot ! I can find a ton that confirm the description, but nothing definitive And specific to a 211. Anyone have or know anything on this ?

You will have to change the electrical conduction plate in the transmission. Part is about 200 any competent shop can do it in an hour. This part is goes between the valve body and transmission. If you want to try a used one I have one.

Thanks for the info Shardul. Apparently it is wise to also change the solenoid at the same time. Would you also agree here ?
The little info that I could find seems to point this code towards the solenoid itself, but the Much more common problem seems to be the plate that you mentioned.

Plate and solenoid changed along with plug and filter, then codes cleared. All seems better now !
Not too comfortable about how the fluid looked though.
