I'll take mine there, too.

Changing the plugs clued me into 2 other surprises...

1. The Car has K&N filters already (i've only owned it for 2 months)
2. Car has SL55 Airbox conversion!
Now I wonder what else the previous owners were up to? crank pulley and tune would be nice!

SL55 airbox??? This is a common mod for the c32, but dont believe there is any difference to the E55 airbox

Yep they be the ones , I was surprised as they had no temperature number other than R1 . I take it they are the standard plugs fitted by a mb service centre ?

NGK I guess. I have seen plugs with the Merc star, the fact is Merc sources plugs and use either Bosch of NGK. My W126 -SEC came with Bosch plugs. Audi has NGKs' with the Audi rings btw.

Quite aware that Mercedes do not make plugs .....
Was more wondering if the ones in the car are correct as they have no heat range on them .

.
NGK-LFR6A are stock. NGK-LFR6AIX are the same temp and are a better plug for a stock motor imho. NGK-LFR7AIX are a step colder and are great for boosted motors. A step colder plug on a stock motor won't hurt anything but you will also not get the full benefit of the plug.

Miss understood, my bad Can't see if the part # is on the side of the plug. NGK-LFR6A are stock. NGK-LFR6AIX are the same temp and are a better plug for a stock motor imho.
