2004 E55
Help needed

Ok I have a 2004 e55 I fitted a set of eurocharge Long tube headers about a 1000ks ago that leaked due to a bad modification job to make them fit a R/H drive but the car still ran solid about 4 weeks ago I had the alternator replaced and done the supercharger belt at the same time about 2 days after the work was done the car developed a misfire I put it down to the leak in the headers as the leak was getting worse so I ordered a set of kleemans which fitted up perfectly and with no leaks but i still have misfire and the check engine light on. I took the car to a tuning shop and its showing misfire codes on the R/H bank if we clear the codes the car runs fine until it gets warm and also seem to run smooth in the upper rev range we done a compression test and the R/H bank is only producing 40psi on all 4 cylinders and the left 175 any help or advice would be appreciated

Something must be wrong with your compression test on the right bank, if you only had 40 psi in each cylinder your car wouldn't run.

The only thing I can think of that would cause an entire bank to have extremely low but consistent compression would be a failed camshaft phaser. I wouldn't expect it to be that low, and would expect the default failure position to be 0' but I am not that familiar with the technical specs of the phasers to know the default position or the advance/retard range. It would definitely code for this.

It would for sure run, especially if the 40 psi were just one bank. It would just run like ***.

Someday I hope to personally see the car that runs with 40psi in 4 of 8 cylinders
